Where to find the best Bath bun (and why it isn't a Sally Lunn)

Sticky, sugar-crusted and fiercely debated: our completely unscientific guide to Bath's famous baked goods.

Visitors often confuse the Bath bun — small, sweet and topped with crushed sugar — with the Sally Lunn, a large brioche-like bun served sliced with sweet or savoury toppings.

We tried them all so you don't have to. (This is dummy content for CMS training — no buns were harmed.)

  1. Look for a crunchy sugar top
  2. A lump of sugar baked into the base is traditional
  3. Eat it warm
